Early life
Roberson is the son of Jeffrey Sr. and Pamela Roberson. He attended The Kinkaid School in Houston, TX, where he was a four-time All-Southwest Preparatory Conference selection and a member of the All-Greater Houston Team. Additionally, he was a finalist for the Guy V. Lewis Award, which is given to the top high school basketball player in Houston. Roberson chose to attend Vanderbilt over Harvard and Georgia Tech. appearing in 132 games with 115 starts. He scored 1,373 points in his four years with the program, which ranked 21st on Vanderbilt’s all-time scoring list at the end of the 2017-2018 season. He was one of only nine players in SEC history to finish in the top 10 in points per game, rebounds per game, field goal percentage, and free throw percentage in his senior season. Roberson was nominated to the Second Team All-SEC during his senior year after averaging 16.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.
Professional career
After going undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft, Roberson signed with the Boston Celtics in September 2018. He was released in October after appearing in two of the Celtics' first four preseason games where he averaged 4.0 points per game. On October 19, the Maine Red Claws announced that Roberson would join the team as a affiliate player.
