Jebi Mather Hisham

Jebi Mather Hisham (born August 19, 1978) is promising young politician currently serving as Municipal Councillor of the Aluva Municipality and General Secretary of the Kerala Pradesh Youth Congress (state wing of the Indian Youth Congress, the largest youth organization of the Indian National Congress). She is a lawyer, a social worker, and a mother.
Jebi Mather Hisham coordinated the visit of the Prince of Wales to Kerala in November 2013, Prince Charles and Duchess of Cornwall, Kamila Parker Bowles. With Aluva Municipality successfully involved in 2 programs (1) MOU signing of Aluva Municipality and W S Atkins International with the support of the British High Commission for Master Plan Preparation focusing on energy efficient development of Aluva Municipality with an interactive session with Prince Charles. This project will take into account the development needs of Aluva for the next 50 years. (2) Women's Empowerment and Kudumbashree Mela at Aluva Palace attended by the Duchess of Cornwall. This helped Kudumbashree;s concept to be showcased and received international acclaim.
Jebi Mather Hisham hails from a very familiar family in Kerala. Her father KMI Mather is the General Secretary of Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee, state wing of the major political party, Indian National Congress and Vice President of Indian Football Association and President of Kerala Football Association. Jebi Mather Hisham is married to Dr. Hisham Ahamed, a cardiologist at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Cochin, Kerala and her son Aeden Hisham. Her brother is an Indian Social Entrepreneur, who served as the Economic Advisor to the Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, of Kerala's Congress led, UDF Government. Her Paternal Grandfather, Late. K C M Mather was the treasurer of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee and her late maternal grandfather. T O Bava was the President of Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee and was a member of the legislative assembly from Aluva.
Jebi Mather was elected as Municipal Councillor of Aluva Municipality, ward 22 in 2010. In this role she organised various programs in her ward, such as ‘Clean 22 Green 22’ (emphasis on bio pot waste management in every household), ‘Healthy 22 Happy 22’ (emphasis on healthy living, medical, eye camps etc), ‘Computer-Know It The 22 Way’ (emphasis on computer education), ‘Mahila Mochan Right from 22’ (emphasis on encouraging women's potential in various fields), ‘Solar Streets’ (emphasis on a green energy initiative), ‘Play 22 Learn 22’ (emphasis on digital media for students), and ‘Save 2 Units for State’ (emphasis on awareness of energy conservation).
