History
The American brand JBW was founded in 2006 with the desire to fuse urban luxury lifestyle with premium watch making. JBW’s first masterpiece was a heavy, oversized all stainless steel Swiss chronograph watch with 12.0 carats of diamonds. The message was to tell time in a new and revolutionary way, one which made a bold statement and set an individual apart.
In the early years JBW was known as Just Bling Watches, a fitting name during an era when hip hop artists ruled the music scene and the term bling had spread beyond hip hop culture into the mass market. The inspired and novel concept of large watches with luxury diamonds (referred to back then as bling) caused a stir in the watch industry during a time when small size cases and traditional understated styles dominated the mainstream market.
After producing watches exclusively for its urban men’s collection, JBW expanded its product line in 2008 to include classic men’s designs and women’s watches. During this time the JBW team honed its focus on outstanding craftsmanship in watch making and modern design aesthetics.
In early 2010, designer Carlos Zuniga took control of the brand’s creative direction and revitalized JBW, giving it tremendous momentum to propel from a small niche brand to a brand appealing to mass audiences, while continuing to maintain a unique identity.
The brand name has officially changed to the standalone JBW, after dropping the vintage term Just Bling from its logo. JBW has simultaneously introduced a new symbolic logo the Phoenix as an iconic figure representing the rebirth of the brand. Today more avid than ever for innovation and urban luxury, JBW is rising again like a phoenix to claim its place in the modern world of time telling.
