Jayeeta Ghosh

Jayeeta Ghosh is a Rabindra Sangeet singer from India.
Early Life
Jayeeta went to Bethun School from grades 9 through 11. After that, she went to Visva-Bharati University in Santiniketan. She was taught in her early life by Kanika Bandyopadhyay. Now, she resides in New Jersey and teaches music at Bharat Sevashram Sangha in Kendall Park. She has published various different cassettes and CDs in India recently. Lately, on many of her CDs Jayeeta's last name before marriage, Neogi, has been put in parenthesis on her CD covers to make it easier for people to recognize her.
Cassettes and CDs
In 2001, Jayeeta released her first ever cassette, Shudhashagorotire. In 2002, Jayeeta released her second cassette, "Para Shanti para prem". In 2003, Jayeeta released her third cassette, "E Moho Aaboran". In 2005, Jayeeta's first CD, "Apurbo Milan" was published. Several different songs from this CD have been recorded as videos and put on YouTube. As of April 25, 2009, Tui Phele Eshechhis Kare has over 15,000 views and favorites, and 4.5 star rating. In 2006, Jayeeta released Asim Mahamela. In 2008, Nirobo Bhairobo Khela was released. It was also the first Jayeeta Ghosh CD released on iTunes. Her most recent CD was released in 2009, and is entitled, "Praan Tomay Chahe".
Accompanists
Jayeeta's accompanists have been one of the most well known musicians in Kolkata. She has consistently been accomponied by tabla player, Biplab Mondal in all of her cassettes and CDs. Abir Singh on sitar has also accomponied her in the more recent CDs.

Some of her songs have appeared on a well known Bengali website , Parabas. She has also participated many times in the North American Bengali Conference, most recently being in the 2010 NABC in Atlantic City.
Unique Songs
Jayeeta Ghosh has been known to sing some of the most uncommon Rabindra Sangeet songs, many of which have not been heard by the typical Bengali audience. Many of the songs she has sung on her CDs are not commonly heard, and she has introduced new songs to the Bengali audience.
