James Walshaw

James Walshaw is an English footballer who plays as a centre forward for Darlington. He made his debut in the Blue Square Bet Premier in August 2011.
Career
Darlington signed highly-rated striker, James, from Guiseley, in May 2011.
The Dewsbury-born, centre forward, who was top scorer, for 'The Lions', in the Blue Square Bet North division, for the 2010-11 season, ended up penning himself a one-year contract with the Quakers, and an option of a second-year, with the North-Eastern club.
Formerly with Ossett, and Leek Towns (loan) respectively, Walshaw, made a big impression in his first season with Guiseley, winning the League Player of the Year award for the 2009-10 season, before finishing top marksmen, with 'The Lions', come the following season.
He has also represented his country once, at England C level, failing to socre in his only appearance for his country, so far.
His home league debut couldn't have got off to a better start, with his new team finishing the game winning 1-0, with a Liam Hatch header towards the end of the game, aginst newly-promoted side Braintree Town, this continued in his away league debut, with a 0-0 draw, against big-spending team Fleetwood Town, a game which Darlo were unlucky not to win, but also James himself, was unlucky not to score in either game, but still made a big impression, in the side, with his fans, and even on the man who signed him, his new boss Mark Cooper, he eventually scored his first home goal though, for the club, just over half-way through with a close range shot, the first-half of the game, in the contensious 1-1 draw, against Alfreton Town,, because the scorer of 'The Reds' second-half, away goal, from the penalty spot (Nathan Jarman), should've been sent-off towards the end of the first-half of the game, for a deliberate elbow, in the face of the man himself, Walshaw, which the match referee, at the time, appeared to miss. He has of yet failed to score his first away goal, for the club though.
