Jack Cudworth (born 11 September 1990 in Preston, Lancashire) is an English footballer who plays for Macclesfield Town F.C., as Goalkeeper.
Club career
Preston North End
Cudworth started his career at Preston North End, before leaving the club at the end of the 2008/09 season. Despite spending much of the 08/09 season as 3rd choice behind Andrew Lonergan and Chris Neal due to injuries to Andrew Murphy and Wayne Henderson. Cudworth was not offered a new contract by then Preston manager Alan Irvine and left the club.
Welshpool Town
At the start of the 09/10 season Cudworth signed for Welsh Premier League side Welshpool Town. A string of fine performances propelled him into the shop window with several Football league clubs monitoring him closely. Cudworth was dubbed 'the best in the league' by then Welshpool Town manager Huw Griffiths. A proposed move to Peterborough United fell through after Darren Ferguson left the club and despite strong interest from Morecambe FC amongst others. Cudworth opted to join the reigning Welsh Premier League champions Rhyl FC.
Rhyl FC
Cudworth made his Rhyl debut in the 1-1 draw with Prestatyn on new years day and went on to make a a total of 17 league appearances for them to add to the 16 + 5 cup appearances for Welshpool Off the field problems blighted the lilywhites season with many of the 2008/2009 title winning squad leaving before the end of the January transfer window due to financial trouble. They were refused a domestic licence by the FAW meaning they were relegated from the Welsh Premier league to the Cymru Alliance for the 2010/11 season, despite finishing 6th in the league. As a result, Cudworth left Rhyl at the end of the season after telling the club he did not wish to play in the Cymru Alliance
Macclesfield Town
Before the start of the 2010/2011 season, Cudworth turned down offers from elsewhere to sign a 1 year deal with League 2 side Macclesfield Town FC
On May 13th 2011, it was annouced that Cudworth had signed a new deal with the Silkmen to keep him at the club till the summer of 2012.
