Jaka Jarc

Jaka Jarc (born February 1, 1979) is a Slovenian musician, producer, author and composer.

He has been playing instruments for most of his life. In 1986 he was already a member of the Radio Slovenia Youth Choir. By 1997 he has finished his schooling in guitar and has attended mandolin lectures and seminars in Austria and Germany. He continued to study with Australian mandolinist Keith Harris and Caterina Lichtenberg while composing his own scores for smaller orchestras. He has worked as a soloist at the Slovenian National Opera theater as well as cooperated with the Slovenian Philharmonics.

He also dabbled in popular music. His bands include: Sfiltrom, Louise, Živel je Mož, Brin and others.

As a producer he has worked with ensembles such as Melodrom, Moonlight Sky, Brodii, Orkester Mandolina, Ad Hoc and others.

He is also a historian and has an MA in Medieval History - in the Anglo-Saxon take on Christianity and Paganism. This sphere of interest has fueled most of his work, both in lyrics as well as music and writing.

He has written several articles for various magazines, prepared late-night radio shows for the Slovenian national radio.
