Jaime Malet

Jaime Malet (1964 in Barcelona) is a business leader, businessman and attorney. He has been the elected chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Spain since 2002, and is CEO and founder of TELAM Partners, a strategic consulting firm specialized in ESG financing & market entry for the fields of infrastructure, technology, and energy, among others.
Malet received his law degree from the University of Barcelona. In 1987 and 1988, he studied international law and economics at the University of Houston, where he received his master's degree (LL.M). In 2002, he completed the IESE’s senior MBA (PADE).
He began his professional career at Arthur Andersen in Spain. In 1995, he founded his own law and economic advisory firm rendering services to multinationals. In 2008, he left the legal profession behind to focus on the world of international business consulting.
He has been chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Spain since 2002. Founded in 1917 and part of the worldwide network of AmChams, AmChamSpain represents around 280 Spanish and American multinational corporations, which have a combined turnover in Spain of around €245 billion. As chairman of AmChamSpain, Malet has coordinated various Spanish presidential delegation trips to the United States: 2003 José María Aznar; 2008 y 2010 José Luis Rodriguez Zapatero; 2014 Mariano Rajoy; and 2018, 2019 y 2021 Pedro Sánchez.
In 2008, Malet and AmChamSpain lead a lobbying campaign in the US to secure observer status for Spain at G-20 summits. The Chamber has also pushed for a number of legislative changes concerning business and labor issues and tax policies, including the new Double Taxation Treaty between Spain and the US, which has been approved by both countries and is awaiting ratification.
Malet is a member of the board of trustees of the Prado Museum, member of the World Economic Forum (WEF) expert network and attends the WEF in Davos yearly.
He is also member of the Consejo de Acción Empresarial of the CEOE (Spanish Employers Association), as well as a member of the board of trustees of the (US-Spain Council).
Malet has served as advisor to major companies such as NextEra Energy, Cisco Systems, Alvarez & Marsal, Sacyr, Tyco Electronics, Betfair, Air Products, Itinere, T-Systems, Indra Systems and Cosentino. Malet also chairs the advisory board of Zurich Insurance Group in Spain.
He is the author of "Del Tibidabo al Mar" (RBA, 2021).
