Mauricio Ramos is a Colombian-American businessman who is the CEO and executive director of telecommunications and media company Millicom International Cellular SA, operating primarily under the brand name TIGO. His work in the fields of telecommunications have received coverage from different magazines including TD Ameritrade Network and CNBC. Early life and education Ramos is a dual Colombian and U.S. citizen who received a degree in economics, law, and a postgraduate degree in financial law from Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota. He is married with three children and is a mountaineer, sailor, and long-distance runner. Career In April 2015, Ramos joined Millicom. Ramos is a Member of the Board of Directors of Charter Communications (U.S.). In 2021, he was elected Chair of the U.S. Chamber's U.S.-Colombia Business Council (USCBC). He also serves as the Chair of the World Economic Forum Digital Communications Industry. Ramos joined Millicom following a tenure at Liberty Global Group, Inc., where he worked from October 1999 to February 2015, most notably as President of Liberty Global's Latin American division, a position he held from 2006 until February 2015.
