Jaffe Communications Inc. is a socially responsible public relations and publishing firm based in Westfield, New Jersey. Founded in 2002 by CEO and President Jonathan S. Jaffe, this privately-owned firm represents an eclectic group of corporate, business and trade association clients.

Jaffe Communication provides media relations to the Townships of Woodbridge, Edison and Monroe, the Boroughs of Highland Park and Roselle. It also represents quasi-public entities like The North Ward Center in Newark, N.J. and its founder Steve Adubato Sr.; the New Jersey Charter School Association, the Newark Charter School Fund, the Roselle N.J. Board of Education; the Roselle Urban Enterprise Zone; and the Edison Policemen’s Benevolent Association Local 75.
Political consulting
Since its inception, Jaffe Communications has printed political literature and provided direct-mail services to Democratic Party candidates running for public offices. In 2003, several key staff acquisitions gave the firm the requisite expertise to broaden its scope of political consulting services. It now provides full-service political campaign consulting and strategy, polling, literature design and printing, and direct-and targeted-mailing for Democrats] seeking municipal, county and statewide elected offices throughout New Jersey.
The firm has represented candidates running for mayor, municipal councils and school boards in the City of Newark and several Middlesex County N.J. communities including the townships of Edison and Old Bridge Township, New Jersey
In 2009, Jaffe Communications created the strategy and direct-mail campaign that helped Edison Township Council member Antonia “Toni” Ricigliano win the Democratic Party’s nomination over incumbent Edison Mayor Jun Choi in a contentious June primary election.
In November 2009, the firm’s campaign strategies also helped Ricigliano, then 70-years-old, defeat a popular Republican challenger in the General Election. Ricigliano became the first woman elected mayor of Edison in the township’s 140-year history when she took the oath of office on Jan. 1, 2010.
Social responsibility
Dedicated to Jonathan Jaffe’s personal belief in social responsibility, the firm's media specialists have partnered' with several of high-profile clients to undertake a variety of social issues.
These issues include municipal finance reform through the firm’s work with “Courage to Connect,” a grassroots group that advocates shared-services among communities to save tax money; education reform through its work with the Robert Treat Academy Charter School in Newark, N.J.; and affordable housing through its work with Habitat for Humanity also in Newark, N.J.
Working with the N.J. Council on Developmental Disabilities, Jaffe Communications works to raise awareness and change adverse perceptions about people with disabilities. A regular contributor to the council’s quarterly magazine, “People & Families,” Jonathan Jaffe helped create the council’s “Just Say Something” campaign and website in 2009 to encourage people with disabilities and their families to speak up in the face of discrimination.
Principals
The firm’s chief executive and president is Jonathan S. Jaffe. Its principal media specialists are Anthony A. Gallotto and Bruno R. Tedeschi. The firm’s creative team includes copywriters and editors; print and electronic graphic designers and award-wining photographers.
Jonathan S. Jaffe worked for a decade as a journalist, covering municipal and state affairs at The Star-Ledger of New Jersey. He moved into public affairs in 1998 and directed marketing campaigns at two public relations firms before starting his own company.
Jaffe has directed campaigns for major health care groups, corporations and small businesses, commercial and residential real estate developers, trade associations and private investors. His work has appeared in major newspapers, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, and various trade publications.
Jaffe has a Master’s Degree in communications from New York University and undergraduate degrees in political science, history and journalism from Rutgers University in New Brunswick N.J. He is now an adjunct faculty member in journalism at Rutgers University.
Anthony A. Gallotto' joined Jaffe Communications in 2004 as its campaign consultant and political strategist, in addition to representing business and corporate clients. A veteran newsman who covered government and politics for two decades, Gallotto was an editor and former Middlesex County bureau chief for The Star-Ledger of New Jersey. He worked as a reporter and editor at two other New Jersey daily newspapers during his 22-year career.
Winner of more than a dozen awards for outstanding writing and investigative journalism, Gallotto has been honored by New Jersey Press Association, The New Jersey Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, The Associated Press, Investigative Reporters and Editors, Inc., and the New York State Education Association.
Gallotto has been a guest lecturer on journalism, politics and government at Rutgers University and other major universities and colleges throughout New Jersey. He holds dual undergraduate degrees in journalism and political science from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, both at Syracuse University.
Bruno R. Tedeschi was City Editor at The Star-Ledger of New Jersey before he joined Jaffe Communications in 2009.
Tedeschi worked at several daily newspapers during his 20-year journalism career, including The Daily Journal of Elizabeth, N.J. and The Record of Hackensack, where he was an award-winning environmental reporter. He later became Trenton bureau chief for The Record, supervising reporters in the second largest statehouse news bureau in the U.S.
Tedeschi has been a frequent guest commentator on NJN Network's Reporters Roundtable, News Channel 12's Roundtable and a guest on MSNBC, Fox 5-N.Y., WABC-Channel 7 in N.Y., and WNYC with Brian Lehrer. A 1989 graduate of Hofstra University with dual undergraduate degrees in chemistry and philosophy, he has a Master’s degree in journalism from New York University.
