Jacob "Jake" H. Long is a retired chocolate worker, union activist, and candidate for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Jake Long is a life-long resident of Annville, Pennsylvania. He lives in a sandstone house built by his grandfather in 1908. He retired from Hershey Chocolate in (?). For 35 years he has worked to help elect candidates for public office who would advance the interests of the middle-class. When a Republican write-in candidate for the state house attempted to get Democratic voters to write-in her name on the Democratic ballot in the May 2014 primary election, Jake Long was asked to allow his name to be written-in as the Democratic candidate. In a 10 day campaign Mr. Long's name was written in over 600 times as opposed to approximately 100 times for the Republican write-in candidate. |
