Irene Aldridge is an American/Canadian businesswoman, scholar, author, inventor and TV personality. Personal life Aldridge was born in Latvia in a highly academic and business-oriented family. Her maternal grandfather was the founder and long-term Chief Executive Officer of the first semiconductor-manufacturing enterprise in the former Soviet block, Alpha, based in Riga, Latvia. Her paternal grandmother was a Minister of Education. Irene's ancestors include European and Russian nobility on both sides of her family. Irene is married with two children.
