Tom Costello

Tom Costello (born 1970, Drogheda, Ireland) is an Irish academic and businessman. He is CEO of Cuil, a search engine which launched in July 2008.

He was educated in Trinity College Dublin and Stanford University. He worked as a researcher and lecturer in Stanford.

He is the author of works about non-monotonic reasoning and heuristics. His field of study could be broadly described as reasoning about reasoning.

He is currently Chief Executive Officer of Cuil. He is married to and has four children with Anna Patterson, president of Cuil and formerly a technical lead at Google.
