Internet Television of Warsaw University of Technology (official acronym: TVPW) is a student organization established in Warsaw in May 2007. It has over 50 members working on a voluntary basis, divided into five departments. At the very beginning of its existence, TVPW experienced dynamic growth which remains equally intense as time goes on. The constant development takes place as far as the quality of films, technical advancement, number of members and their skills and know-how are concerned. Mission and goals The ambition of TVPW is to become a significant source of information and entertainment for possibly the largest group of young viewers in Poland. Content profile The thematic range of presented materials is classified within four main categories: Information, Science, Culture and Sport. TVPW marks its presence first of all by attending events organized by students, quite often providing medial patronage for them. Its working schedule is inseparably connected with Warsaw academic life. The editorial staff brings also their own productions to life. The most important productions published so far are films from Juvenalia 2007 and 2008. Miss PW elections and December Artistic Student Review (GAPA) are periodically video-recorded, too. TVPW regularly publishes the Chronicle of Warsaw University of Technology, where it summarizes the most important academic events. Organizational structure and staff The current Board consists of seven members. Editor-in-chief serves as the head of TVPW. Managers of five departments and Treasurer are his/her direct subordinates. Particular departments can be divided into smaller parts called sections. Editor-in-chief The primary duties of this position involve strategic management, setting goals and delegate tasks to department managers. Editor-in-chief is entitled to act on behalf of the organization on the outside. Filming Department Filming Department is the largest TVPW section in terms of headcount. The unit is responsible for the technical sides of TVPW development. It takes care of equipment, trains cameramen, film editors, audio engineers, graphic designers, technicians and make-up specialists. Information Technology Department Since the Internet constitutes the basis for TVPW existence, the department is in charge of the expansion and the technical maintenance of the official website. Furthermore, it creates, implements and monitors computer tools in order to support the day-to-day running of television. Editorial Department The department helps to coordinate the work of all reporters, presenters and speakers. It is responsible for content-related aspects of the television and its image. Regular trainings on diction and confident delivery are carried out. Human Resources & Promotion Department The unit is in charge of conducting efficient marketing among viewers by using vast range of promotional tools. Moreover, it organizes recruitment and soft skills trainings, draws up public relations policy and looks after internal communication system. Cooperation and Support Department Tasks typically assigned to this department include pursuing sponsorships, establishing and maintaining profitable relations with various institutions, in addition to facilitating the work of reporters. Treasurer Treasurer is generally responsible for supervising the budgetary issues involving TVPW.
