Off Broadway Arts Centre

The Off Broadway Arts Centre is located at 639 Main Street in the former Knights of Columbus hall in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Nestled in the heart of Saskatoon's thriving Broadway District, it's home their own Off Broadway Dinner Theatre, Children's Lunchtime Theatre, and various drama and art camps held throughout the year. Different rooms in the Arts Centre may be rented out for events such as wedding receptions, conferences, art workshops, and dances. Off Broadway Arts Centre has been a venue for the Saskatoon Fringe Festival. The building itself is also home to Gail Adams School of Art and Inside Out Therapies.

The Off Broadway Dinner Theatre runs from mid-September to the end of July, with five live comedies a year. The last show of the year is generally a musical. In past years, they have performed Nunsense, Little Shop of Horrors, and The Odd Couple. They have also performed plays written by local playwrights, including the widely popular Baba & Gido's 50th Anniversary. Patrons can expect a fabulous dinner buffet and alcoholic drinks served at the table before settling down to watch the play, which lasts about 2 hours with a ten-minute intermission. Each play boasts a themed drink special and coffee special. With every coffee special purchased, one can enter their name to win a prize, with the draw occuring on the last evening of the play run. Long-time patrons have a penchant for searching for 'penguins' in their programs - when a picture of a penguin is found on one's table program, that person wins a free coffee special.

The Off Broadway Children's Lunchtime Theatre is a rapidly growing attraction. The Children's Theatre runs most Saturday and Sunday afternoons at noon during the same time period as the dinner theatre. Similar to dinner theatre, children and parents can enjoy a kid-friendly lunch before watching an hour-long kid-friendly play. In the past most of the plays have been written by local playwrights within the community, but as of late they have been bringing in shows such as The Nightingale, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, and Alice in Wonderland.
