Intellihot

Intellihot
Intellihot Green Technologies, Inc. is an American manufacturer of commercial tankless water heaters. The company's manufacturing facility is located in Galesburg, Illinois, in North America.
History
Intellihot was founded in 2006 by tech entrepreneur, Sridhar Deivasigamani and was later joined by Sivaprasad Akasam. Sridhar Deivasigamani is a mechanical engineer and was working in Caterpillar at that time in robotics and marine engines. In an interview on NBC5 the founder stated that in 2006, he came home from a 40-hour flight at 1am and found his basement flooded by a broken tank-type water heater. By that morning, he had an idea to develop a new tankless water heater.
In 2009, the duo moved into the Peoria Next Innovation Center and they went from prototype to production within 18 months. In 2011, Intellihot moved into a much larger manufacturing facility in Galesburg, Illinois in the Sustainable Business Center.
Intellihot currently has 18 awarded and 23 pending patents.
Intellihot's commercial tankless water heaters are powering large-scale sites including Levi’s® Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers, 340 on the Park, Chicago’s second tallest residential building, and Hilton Hotels.
In an article in Midwest Energy News David Unger writes, “(Intellihot is) one scrappy tech firm reinventing how we use an everyday product.” He also writes, “Intellihot may not have the sexy marketing campaigns and unorthodox workspaces of its Bay-area kinsfolk, but the company has the potential to be every bit as impactful.”
Products
Intellihot iQ series and iSeries product lines include wall-hung and floor-standing gas-fired, tankless water heaters for large-scale commercial use. Intellihot has the only gas-fired tankless Deionized water heater for industrial use. Intellihot also has a residential product that combines water and space heating called Combi.
