Ian Speed

Ian Speed, (born 29 March 1973)is an Australian vision-impaired athlete who competed at the 2006 IPC Athletics World Championships, 2008 Summer Paralympics and the 2013 IPC Athletics World Championships. He is a track and field athlete who competes in middle distance events.
Personal
Speed lives in Victoria, Australia. He has a vision impairment that stems from a degenerative eye condition known as retinitis pigmentosa, which has left him with almost no peripheral vision. He is a lawyer by profession. He trained at the Victorian Institute of Sport between 2006 and 2010.
He represented Australia at the 2006 IPC Athletics World Championships in the 400m and 800m. At the 2008 Summer Paralympics, he finished 9th in the .
Speed competed in the T12 800m and 1500m at the 2013 IPC Athletics World Championships. He came 5th place in the final of the 1500m. In the 800m, he finished 3rd in his semi-final before being disqualified.
He holds the Australian record and Oceania record for the T12 800m event.
