Human Factors Lab is a comedic Florida, USA based Industrial metal band led by founding member Steven "Sev3n" Dunbar. Human Factors Lab formed in the winter of 2003 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Sev3n began working closely with other musicians on the South Florida music scene, including co-founder and drummer Matt (end all) Johnson. Their first live performance on New Years eve 2003/2004 at The Culture Room, a notable live venue in south Florida. The current line-up of Human Factors Lab consists of Steven "Sev3n" Dunbar (vocals, keyboard programming), Halo (Keyboards), Matt (End all) Johnson (drums), Vex(guitars), and Loogie (guitar). Touring and live performance Human Factors Lab has been touring the U.S. actively since 2004. With a total of 7 U.S. tours under their belt ,They have built a strong national following. The band wears elaborate clothing and make up on stage and are noted for their powerful energetic stage show. On April 3, 2008 and October 3, 2008 HFL toured via constant buyins in the U.S. for Cleveland based rockers Mushroomhead. They have also shared the stage with other bands such as CROSSBREED, BILE, PIGFACE, Team Cybergeist, Cynergy 67 and Genitorturers. PAP3R and PLASTIK IN the summer of 2004 Human Factors Lab released their debut album PLASTIK. This album featured songs written and performed by Sev3n, with collaborations and guest appearances by various other musicians. Due to constant touring, the band did not release another album until 2008. PAP3R was released on Toxic Shock records in February 2008 and features remixes by other industrial rock band like KMFDM, CROSSBREED, AND BILE. The album also featured a brand new track The Art of suicide. This song was much heavier and guitar drive than the songs on PLASTIK, and sounded more like what fans were used to hearing from the bands live performances. The Art of suicide was a good preview of the new musical direction the band was taking, and what fans could expect on the next record.
