Human Earth Animal Liberation

HEAL (Human Earth Animal Liberation) is a self-proclaimed "network of activists" of undisclosed funding sources.. They claim to have a mission to support the liberation of Humans,Animals, and "The Earth". (They do not descibe how they will free the entire planet.) The strategy of HEAL (www.heal-online.org) seems to be to use inflammatory language to engage the public in their mission to shut down programs or businesses that they do not support. In contrast to most activist organizations, they do not appear to offer any sort of public forum on their website. When suggesting alternatives, they often suggest "natural" remedies, and direct users to websites that do not directly source their evidence, or even broken links. (e.g. http://www.maddwashington.org/kitsap/madd-10.htm) HEAL does not seem to be associated with nationally recognized advocacy groups or professional associations. (Such as the American Counseling Association) |
