Hrangthan Chhungi is the current Treasurer of the scholarly Society for Biblical Studies in India, a Learned society, incorporating Biblical Scholars of the Protestant, Orthodox, Roman Catholic and Charismatic traditions. After completion of doctoral studies in United Theological College, Bengaluru, Chhungi was finally awarded a doctoral degree by the in 2006. Since 2009, Chhungi is Secretary, Commission on Tribal & Adivasi Concerns of National Council of Churches in India, Nagpur.
