Herman Otten (actor)

Herman Otten (born 4 July 1982) is a Dutch former comedy actor, radio host, and a speech coach. He has worked for 3FM and Radio 1. He has appeared in the film The Hell of '63 and television show Goede tijden, slechte tijden.
Early life & career
Otten graduated in 2008 as an actor at the Utrecht School of the Arts. After his graduation he won the audience award as a comedian at the Groninger Studenten Cabaret Festival, a comedy festival in Groningen, the Netherlands.
Otten worked as a comedian together with Stefan Pop for Radio 1. In September 2011, he started to work for the radio show of Giel Beelen at 3FM. He also made comedy sketches for NPO Humor TV. He played the role of Erik in the movie ' directed by Steven de Jong, he played the role of Jan Schalm in the soap opera Goede tijden, slechte tijden and participated in the satirical tv show New Kids. He also have acted in the NPO film Alex in Amsterdam directed by Michiel ten Horn and in Eigen directed by Malu Janssen.
Following many years of acting, Otten became a public speaking and speech coach. In the Netherlands he has coached individuals, students and organizations including the Royal Netherlands Navy, the University of Amsterdam and the VU University Medical Center. Later he moved to New York City where he founded "PublicSpeaking.NYC". He has provided public speech coaching to individuals and to companies including Compass, Inc., MicroPort and 3Shape. He also teaches students in New York to reduce their public speaking anxiety. He was interviewed about public speaking in the In plain language podcast, on a BlogTalkRadio Podcast. and on the Business News Network.
