Hassan Zanjirani Farahani (born 19 November 1987) is an Iranian composer, sound designer, performer and media artist. He studied piano, trumpet and clarinet at Tehran Conservatory, and worked as a piano teacher for several years before moving to Austria, where he studied composition and electronic music in Vienna and Linz and media technologies at Anton Bruckner university (Linz), and attended master classes and workshops with notable composers and media artists such as Beat Furrer, Tristan Murail, Jonty Harrison, David Berezan and John Chowning. He is also a performer and improviser in both contemporary music and electroacoustic music. His compositions are stylistically variable but the majority are electroacoustic pieces for ensemble and live electronics. He had written also pieces for film, theater and musical theater. He is interested in lighting design and visualization, educational activities and online courses for composition, electronic music, digital audio workstation (DAW), sound synthesis, light design.. He is also a sound and light engineer and designer, music producer, graphic designer and an VFX artist . Activities as performer As electronic music performer, Hassan Zanjirani Farahani deals with electroacoustic scores of contemporary music. Among composers whose works he has performed include Karlheinz Essl, Tristan Murail, Luigi Nono, Kaija Saariaho etc. He is also a live-electronics improviser, who have played in many events, festivals and concert venues such as Wiener Konzerthaus (Vienna), Porgy & Bess (Vienna), Brucknerhaus (Linz) etc..
