Tigran Mansuryan (; ) (January 27, 1937 ) is a Lebanese-born Armenian composer Armenian composer famous for his orchestral, chamber, choral, and vocal works, as well as a number of movie soundtracks. Biography Tigran Mansuryan was born in Beirut, Lebanon, but later moved to Armenia in 1947, settling in Yerevan in 1956. He studied composition with Edvard Bagdasaryan at the Romanos Melikian College of Music in Yerevan from 1956 to 1960 and with Lazarus Saryan at the Yerevan State Musical Conservatory from 1960 to 1965, with whom he also had post-graduate studies there from 1965 to 1967. Tigran Mansuryan taught modern music theory at the Yerevan State Musical Conservatory from 1967 to 1986, composition since 1987 and from 1992 to 1995 he was the director of the same conservatory. Recently he left the teaching career and now concentrates on composition.
