Harriet Hageman (born October 5, 1962) is an American attorney and politician. A Republican, she is running in the 2022 United States House of Representatives election in Wyoming, primarying incumbent representative Liz Cheney. Previously, she was a delegate to the 2016 Republican National Convention and was a candidate in the 2018 Wyoming gubernatorial election. Early life and education Hageman was born in Fort Laramie, Wyoming and grew up on a small ranch outside the town. She earned two degrees from the University of Wyoming. Her father, James Hageman, served as a member of the Wyoming House of Representatives from 1982-2006. Career Hageman's first job was working for judge James E. Barrett. She became an attorney, eventually opening her own firm. On January 16, 2018, at the Cheyenne Depot Museum, Hageman announced her intent to run in the 2018 Wyoming gubernatorial election. The Wyoming Tribune Eagle characterized her as a more conservative candidate than the current governor at the time, Matt Mead. She lost the primary election to Mark Gordon, earning 21.3% of the vote and carrying Campbell, Converse, Goshen, Niobrara, and Platte counties. She supported Ted Cruz in the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election. In September 2021, Hageman entered the 2022 United States House of Representatives election in Wyoming. She received an endorsement from Donald Trump, after incumbent representative Liz Cheney consistently spoke out against Trump, and voted to impeach him.
