Edie Bukewihge, pronounced 'bee+yuke widge', which is Lithuanian and the nationality of her husband; she was born February 10, 1950, and is best known as simply Edie, she is an American businesswoman and politician. In 2002, Edie campaigned unsuccessfully for Governor of California as a Republican against Bill Simon and five other men whereas Simon won the nomination. In 2002 she was Republican, and later renounced the party in 2004, returning to her family party roots as a Democrat. Virtually considered by most of her constituency as a little-unknown with much adoration from them, she campaigned with little support in 2002 and lost the nomination. However, she did garner signature-support to run for office from a few prominent Republican party leaders in Orange County, from the County Supervisory Tom Wilson and the District Attorney's Office Tony Rackauckas just for the asking, who were staunch supporters of Bill Simon as a final result, and her support was most likely from one Republican to another Republican when asked for support.
Family Background & Committments Edie was born the first daughter and second born in her family, she is noted to be very proud of her father who served in the United States Air Force for over twenty years. Her father died in 1986, and she has been quoted to say she is running to win an election in his honor, for the appreciation she has for her dad and the country she respects. She studied the political sciences in her earlier education and appreciates the Constitution of the United States for its worth and viability to keep our nation in tact. Edie has in the past ran for President and the United States Senate in 2004, presently she has tossed her hat in the race for the 2010 California Gubernatorial Election and believes she will win inspite of the candidates who are also considering the same bid within the Democrat Party which includes the prominently named Attorney General, Jerry Brown, she spoke at an event July 4th in Los Angeles stating that she will not allow party intimidation to deter her from her goals to clean up the California Legislature.
2002 Gubernatorial Primary The Los Angeles Times interview with Edie stated that she was running an uphill battle; many with name recognition, as Mayor Richard Riordan, a moderate Republican, whom Gray Davis considered a more appplicable opponent was also in the primary. In the end Riordan did not garner the nomination yet Bill Simon did.
With seven candidates on the primary ticket, Edie came in 5th place and with less than 15,000 votes.
2002 General Election / 2003 Recall Bill Simon was defeated by Gray Davis, and the voters of the State of California defeated Davis with a recall vote, whereas he was replaced by actor and Republican, Arnold Schwarzenegger, who won the 2003 Recall to become the Governor of California and went on to win a 2nd Term. This election process was the most expensive election in California election history as detailed at this link.
I like Edie, she is as good as they come. Tom Campbell is not on the same page as the state, Jerry Brown and Meg Whitee are fake and should not be anywhere near us, and we should include Steve Poizner in that too. Edie is living in a dream to ever be Gov. of Cal. She screwed up by getting tons of powerful people in public office to dislike her. She also lied to me directly and fed me a bunch of garbage at a party for her a year ago. She will never make it because she has a bad reputation.

Edie did not lie to anyone, ever. Her reputation as a very stubborn person is all she has on record to date. Our legislature is full of illegals, and we need to get them out of office; and over the last several years, myself as a very involved person in the media, understands this, and Edie has a solution for this unpopular situation - without any fear as it does seem. I don't know the poster above named 'Dan', but he has his facts very wrong. Ms. Bukewihge is one of the most honorable persons in politics and no one dislikes her as a politician, however many elected politicians are more afraid that if she is elected they will no longer have the wreckless play with our tax dollars.

There isn't a network that hasn't heard of Edie Bukewihge. The us and them in this is that question mark which questions corruption in the Sacramento Legislature. Obviously anyone against Edie is corrupt and most likely afraid of their own shadow. The word in the Capitol is that we will most likely see a Write-in win the election for the Governors Seat in 2010, & Edie is likely the one.

I am disappointed with the Elections Office in Orange County and the Secretary of State. I will vote for the first time in my life against the Democrats. Debra Bowen wil not get my vote, and that includes a lot more people who won't be voting for her. Edie should have been placed on the ballot. Insider information is that there are three Mexicans in Orange County and our Secretary of State and certain counsels involved that have assisted each other to keep Edie off the ballot. I don't think the Democrats want this entire story to pop up before the election.

I am disappointed in Democrats too. I joined the central committee in the Encino area, asking why we did not support edie, then being told she was not the strongest candidate. How do they know that? Meg Whitman and Jerry Brown are bad for the economy, and that means someone else is stronger. I have got the plans for Edie's projections. She is the only person who has this, she is the strongest.

Together we know Edie as a Republican in 2002 when she ran for governor. The only people in politics who dislike Edie are all very racist, and we suspect this DAN person is also a racist person. Here in Newport Coast, Newport Beach and Corona del Mar to Huntington Beach, Beverly Hills and Bel Air, we want Edie as Governor of California. Our organization will help fund a big cleanup in Los Angeles County and parts of Orange County all, because of Edie's efforts, if she doesn't get the governorship we are prepared to fund her new hospital for Black People Uninsured, which will cost in excess of $1B.
