Haji Mohammad Idris is an Indian Qawwali singer. He is well known for his distinct style of Sufi and the contemporary Qawwali tradition.
Haji Mohammad Idris is the world's first Qawwal who has created the World Record in Sufi Qawwali.
History
Haji Mohammad Idris is the inheritor of an 800-years old qawwali tradition, nurtured and developed over several generations by great luminaries. Apart from this, Haji Mohammad Idris is also a Darbari singer at the Dargah (Shrine) of Hazrat Khwaja Qutbuddin Bakhtiyar Kaki in Delhi.
Biography, career profile and discography
Haji Mohammad Idris is better known as Qutbi Brothers. Haji Mohammad Idris is the world's first Qawwal who has created the World Record in which he performed 12 hrs continuously for Adhyatmik Yatra Sufi Rang Sham Se Seher Tak on 12th November 2016 at Sangeet Natak Akademi in New Delhi. This record has been included and published in the Limca Book of Records in the 2019 edition.
Haji Mohammad Idris is a Top grade artist at All India apart from this, he is also empaneled with ICCR and the Ministry of Culture (India).
Haji Mohammad Idris has equal command over qawwali traditional, he has sung and composed the mystic verses of poets and saints such as Baba Farid, Amir Khusrau, Meerabai, Rumi, Bulleh Shah, Kabir, among others.
In his career spanning across several decades, he has enraptured audiences all over the world in several prestigious music festivals such as Commonwealth Games India (SNA), Arth Festival, Jahan-e-Khusro, Qutub Festival, Anhad Naad Festival (NCPA Mumbai), Sanskruti Art Festival (Mumbai), Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat Sikkim, Gurgaon Utsav, ICCR International Sufi Festival, Urdu Heritage Festival, Patna Maner Mahotsav, Phool Walon Ki Sair, Jashn-e-Qawwali Festival, Namaste Indian France Festival (France), Sufi Festival (South Africa), and many others. He has performed not only in India but also in abroad countries such as UK, France, Tanzania, UAE, South Africa, Kenya, Sir Lanka, and many others.
Mohammad Idris has also sung a Sufi song Mere Maula in a Bollywood movie Room:The Mystery. His famous qawwali have been recorded on cassettes and albums and released by famous music companies like T-series Venus, Max, Qutub Audio, and many others.

For his work and contribution in the field of Qawwali, Haji Mohammad Idris has received several awards such as Genius Indian Achiever’s Award (For World Rcord Contribution), Special Price from Parliament House (India), Atal Bihari Samman 2019, Yaad-e-Rajiv Gandhi Award, Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan Award and among others.
