Tendencia is a band of Cuban Metal Mestizo. Due to their trajectory they are considered one of the most important bands of the genre in Cuba; and among the most relevant in Latin America. Tendencia is a Cuban mestizo metal band that was founded in Cuba in 1994. It is considered one of the most important rock bands in Cuba and among the most relevant in Latin America over the last decade. Since the beginning the band has recorded albums that were awarded and nominated in Cuba and the world. In 2001 they released their first album Re-evolution through the German label company System Shock, a division of Impact Records. The first album opened the doors to Cuban television, radio, and to the first video clip. Tendencia was one of the first bands in Cuba to reach the media. Tendencia is the main band at the Patria Grande International Rock Festival, which takes place every year in Cuba. In 2005 they made their second album Rebeldes, through the most important Cuban label EGREM. The second album won several awards on Cuban music: the Cubadisco award under the category of best metal album of the year, the D'Arte award, the Cubaneo award, and the Cuerda Viva award. With the second album they made their first official national tour, and the band was invited to the Metropolitan Festival of Caracas, Venezuela "Gilman Fest", their first international experience. Tendencia shared the stage in Caracas with bands like Arcángel and Paul Gilman. In 2007 they became the first band established in Cuba to participate in the Derrame Rock Festival, one of the most important music festivals in Spain. In Spain they participated in the Rock'n Motos Fest, where they played in different concerts around the country, sharing the stage with important bands such as Barón Rojo, Fe de Ratas, Avalanch, Hamlet, The Locos, Reincidentes, among others. The band signed with Santo Grial Producciones for a record and a tour, and returned to Spain in 2008 for his third album Confidencial at Bunker studios, in Asturias, having Alberto Rionda from Avalanch as their producer. In 2008 Tendencia played at the Extremusika, Derrame Rock festivals, at the Vila Rock Fest and Villena Suena Festival. In 2010 Tendencia was invited to participate in the Semana Negra Festival in Spain, and they performed some concerts in Germany during the summer. In 2010 they were nominated in the category for the best metal video in Cuba, and they made the Cuban tour called "Ruta Metalera". Tendencia ended 2012 in Ecuador, where they participated in the Quitu Raimy Festival, sharing the stage with bands from all over Latin America. In 2013 Tendencia made another Cuban tour called "La Trampa" and they returned to the studios to record the EP "La Trampa ". In 2014 the German band COR and Tendencia made the Cuban tour "Cuba COR Libre" to celebrate Tendencia's 20th anniversary throughout Cuba. From that tour derives a documentary with the same name that was shown in Rock Hard magazine, with an article called Chaos in Cuba that same year. In 2015 theyey were invited to Puerto Rico for the Metal Islands Festival, and they played in cities in the United States such as Tampa, San Juan and New York. The University of Puerto Rico made the documentary Islas del Metal, where they chose Tendencia to represent Cuba. In 2016 , Tendencia returned to the international arena on stages in Colombia playing at the Kraken Festival, in Bogotá, and at the eighth edition of the Unirock Festival in Cali. That same year they toured Mexico where they invited to the Mandragora Metal Fest in Mexico City. That year in the Patria Grande Festival they shared stage with Ana Tijoux and Eruca Sativa. Tendencia began the 2017 with the national tour "Cargando Cruces", recording an album of the same name. Tendencia received the Cuerda Viva Special Award under the category of the most popular rock band in the country. That same year they host an Avalanch concert in Cuba , with an All Star Band format, as part of their tour over Latin America. In 2018 Tendencia returned to Europe to promote his new album Cargando Cruces through the label company Antipop. The album was remastered in Germany and took the band to major festivals such as "With Full Force Open Air", "Chaostrawm Festival", "Fusion Festival", "Fete de la Musique in Berlin" and "Phungo Festival". Tendencia performed 22 concerts over 45 days and shared the stage with bands such as Cannibal Corpse, Body Count, Hatebreed, Madball, Soulfly, Judas Priest, Ditte Whal, Parkway Drive, Crowbar, COR, God Dethroned, and Apocalíptica, among others. In 2019 the band again recorded with the label company EGREM an album for the band's 25th anniversary. That year they participated in the Festival Patria Grande, in Cuba to celebrate the 500 years of Havana. Tendencia is the host of the International Fest, Pinar Rock every year. The album Añejo XXV is made up of a selection of the best songs since the beginning of their career. This album was released on multiple digital platforms such as Amazon, Apple Music, Deezer, Spotify, Pandora, etc. . Being well received by critics and their followers. With this album the band has participated in several international festivals such as Metal Heroes, Pandemic Terror Fest III, Staying Alive Fest, Viva el Metal sin Censura Fest, Viral Fest Vol III, Athens Rock Festival, Piña Colada Festival, among others.
