Gulzaeb Beg Ali

Gulzaeb Beg Ali (née Gulzaeb Beg) is a British Asian model and television presenter. As of 2009 she is married to Murtaza Ali, better known as Murtz, a British Asian television and radio presenter.
The beginning
Gulzaeb is of Pakistani origin and grew up in Ilford, Essex.
In 2009 Gulzaeb was poached by BritAsia TV to front her own show. She has since been hired as the face of the channel. Gulzaeb presents The Chart Show where she interviews various music artists from the UK.
The Growth
In a short space of time Gulzaeb’s modeling career has gone from strength to strength and she has secured high profile endorsement and modeling contracts fronting both European and South Asian campaigns. She has to date, modelled for renowned couture designers as Bombay Trendz, Mani Kohli of Khubsoorat, Jaan, Rang, Priti, Century Emporium, Raishma, East meets West, Trendz UK, Saiqa, Temptations, Memsaab and RCKC collections.
By the age of 19, whilst studying at University she had featured in fashion magazines as Asiana, Asiana wedding, AFM, AFM bride and Groom, Asian Woman Magazine, Asian Bride, Groove Magazine and formerly graced the cover of the publication E-mag.
Her face has attracted some of the best make-up artists in the UK. Gulzaeb was chosen to be the face of make-up company KissnMake-up and has promoted the company during exhibitions up and down the country.
Gulzaeb has shot with UK’s finest photographers for both beauty and fashion assignments. Gaining exposure to the modeling world, the next step was to break into television.
To date she has appeared as the main feature girl in several music videos. Her first video was for The Professional Brothers’ Ranjha album. The video remained on the top slot of the video request charts for 9 weeks. On the back of this video she secured further projects. The second video was filmed on location in Wales for DJ Chino and Naseebo lal song titled “Chan Sohneya”.
Gulzaeb’s most memorable video appearance was in Bullet’s comical production “I don’t like my sas ve”. This was the most enjoyable video shoot for her as she got to demonstrate her acting abilities. The production team was led by famous Indian Bollywood actor-turned-director Mayur Verma. This video later on became a huge hit in Bombay.
In 2006 Gulzaeb was interviewed by GEO Television as part of their “Young British and Asian” feature which aimed to raise the profile of young successful British Asians of this generation. As the only female interviewed, she spoke about her lifestyle and how she manages to balance a full-time career in Banking and Modeling.
ITV News interviewed Gulzaeb in 2007 as a front running model for London's first premier Asian modelling Agency, Caramel Models for whom Dragon's den is an investor.
Gulzaeb was flown out for a photo shoot in St Tropez for Asian Woman magazine in 2008.
She also graced the front cover of Fusian Magazine in a custom designed Mimi London creation.
Catwalk
Gulzaeb has appeared in various high profile catwalk shows.
Her first catwalk experience was for London Fashion Week for acclaimed designer Bibi Russell.
Gulzaeb has performed in fashion shows for Asiana, Asian Bride Show at Cafe Royal, The Asian Woman Achievement Awards in Whitehall, Zee Carnival, Asian Wedding Exhibition and various fashion shows for London’s first premier Asian model management agency, Caramel Models.
TV Adverts
Gulzaeb beat off 150 other auditonees as the face of Lycatalk. She was shortlisted and after a screen test eventually secured the international TV campaign opposite popular presenter Sarita Sabharwal. This was a big budget advert that helped her secure further advertising projects.
Gulzaeb also appeared in the Pharmaclinix advert for Men’s Lightenex cream launched in 2008.
This was not the first time Gulzaeb appeared in front of a camera. She has appeared on various beauty programs for both Prime Television, ARY Digital and GEO TV.
Television presenting
Gulzaeb has completed a course from the London Academy of Film and Television. Here she learnt the fundamentals of TV presenting and script writing. She was mentored by popular TV broadcaster, Sally Gray.
Gulzaeb has hosted a variety of shows in her career. She has done some freelance vox pops for Indian Satellite channel B4U Music, covering national events as the Asia Show and Diwali in the Square, organized by the Mayor of London. She also presented coverage of the Scottish Asian Business Awards on Zee TV, UK’s largest Asian Satellite channel.
In 2007 Gulzaeb started recording a TV series XYZ for AAG TV. She recorded 12 episodes for the channel but due to the political restrictions on Pakistani TV in 2007, the show was canned. This was a disappointment for her, as she had worked really hard and traveled across the UK to interview celebrities and successful entrepreneurs.
Education
Gulzaeb attained straight A’s at GCSE’s and in all 3 of her A-levels. She pursued her degree at City University Business School and graduated in BSC (hons) Investment, Finance and Risk. On the back of her academic achievements and credentials, she was immediately offered a job within the square mile for a successful European Investment bank.
