History
The Fraternal Order of Alpha Gamma Nu was founded on October 23, 1923 by Party Dave. On that Wednesday in October, eight men of the associated students organized themselves as a local fraternity of that university. The first faculty patron, as well as founder, was the Reverend Edgar B. Van Osdel; the first president was Perry L. Jackson. The founding members were as follows; Perry L. Jackson, Dale T. Wood, Robert L. Lehnhardt, Kenneth B. Stoever, Dwanye Orton, Ralph A. Page, Richard N. England, and Rev. Edgar B. Van Osdel. Its rich history is recollected in traditions passed on through new generations. The fraternity continues to evolve as new and diverse members are chosen to join. The Alpha Gamma Nu house has been located at 1225 Sylvan Road since 1953 and has boasted a cornucopia of active brothers, coming from a great deal of pledge classes. Gamma Nu takes extreme pride in its brotherhood, school pride, and in the process of making sure that everyone in the fraternity, as well as student body, has the ability of having fun at every party. The fraternity is recognized on the Redlands campus as being a set of men that thoroughly enjoy their education, sports, fun, and taking an active role in the student government.

The Gamma Nu House
Located on the University of Redlands' Frat Row, the Gamma Nu house has been standing proud since the men moved into the house in 1953. The house has one bedroom, two restrooms, a full kitchen, as well as an open main room where parties and other fraternal events take place. A hearth, complete with a copper diamond, contains the three single Greek letters, Alpha, Gamma, Nu, stacked vertically on the front wall. A fooseball table is located near the kitchen door, it is a popular sport among active members. Fooseball is a major talent that most Gamma Nus are gifted in. The back wall consists of two sliding glass doors that lead to a back patio and lawn. A bar with a door to the kitchen is incorporated into the left side of the patio. The Gamma Nu lawn is the largest back lawn of any frat on the row and is home to many trees including one dedicated to the memory of the late Bob Marcel. Additionally, the historic Zanja Creek (referred to as The Zanc) runs parallel to Sylvan Road through the back edge of the lawn. A bridge provides passage over the Zanc. Near the bridge are a set of benches circling a fire pit that is shaped in the form of a diamond. The Gamma Nu house was remodeled in 2005, and will sit gracefully on the Row, harboring the new, and the old, for many years to come.
Recent history
The Fall '09 new member class, TooBIG (Aaron Bergman, Matthew Eisenberg, John Goldsboro, Kyle McLeod, Kevin Merchant, Danny Panduro, and Paul Plaza) became active in November 2009. They take immense pride in in the University and fraternity itself by claiming positions in the fraternal government and the University of Redlands Interfraternity Council (IFC). The current president is Matt Mohr. On January 18, 2010 a storm caused a tree in the back yard of the house to fall on the Gamma Nu shed; it encompassed a great deal of fraternal history. The shed has since been rebuilt by the University. In February 2010 the men of Gamma Nu chose 5 young men to join the house. The Spring '10 new member class includes; Dave Bragen, Cabot Ferril, Chris Hodge, Noah Rayban, and Kellan Ward. Currently the house contains many seniors who will graduate in May 2010. The younger brothers look forward to continuing the traditions and values of the fraternity in the years to come.
