Groep fan Auwerk

The Groep fan Auwerk is an organisation that struggles for an independent Greater Frisia. The land that covers the Greater Frisia region, according the Groep fan Auwerk, comprises four parts as expressed in the Pan-Frisian flag advocated by the group:
* Westlauwersk Fryslân
**Province of Friesland in the Netherlands
* Eastlauwers Friesland
** Province of Groningen in the Netherlands
* West-Friesland
**Region in the province of North-Holland in the Netherlands
* Oost-Freesland
**Region of Eastern Friesland (including East Frisia, Saterland, Landkreis Friesland, Wilhelmshaven, Rüstringen, Land Wursten, Landkreis Cuxhaven) in Germany
* Nord-Fraschlönj
** Region of North Frisia in Germany (including Dithmarschen, although Ditmarschen has no Frisian population)
History
The organisation was founded in 2003 by presenting their declaration. In 2005 the group began its first political activity: Frisian nationality was requested in the province of Friesland in the Netherlands. After that, the FRL license plate sticker action took place: in the European license plate the country code in the blue part with the European stars had an FRL country code. The intention was that people would put it on their license plate showing they preferred to be Frisian.
The group took several other actions, such as the anti-Nazi helmet which was produced by a Dutch company for the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
On 23 September 2006 the group presented the Pan-Frisian flag. This flag is to be applied to all the Frisian regions.
Politics
The group is politically active, working towards a stronger Frisian identity. The area of operation for the Groep fan Auwerk is the territories considered to be a part of Greater Frisia. A good example is the request for the Frisian nationality: Frisian nationality should be made optional for all the Frisians besides their Dutch or German citizenship
