GRkbd is a keyboard program that allows switching the input language between English and Greek, targeting Linux systems using the X Window System. When the program is running it displays a small window with an English or Greek flag indicating the current input layout. The user can switch between the two languages either by pressing alt-shift or by clicking inside the flag window. GRkbd is nowadays obsolete and useless because Linux systems have great internationalization support. Nevertheless, GRkbd enjoyed to be the choice of preference of the Greek Linux users community from 1998 until 2000, because of its relatively ease of use and simple installation procedure, in comparison to other similar products of that time. GRkbd is written by Giannis Tsakiris and published under the GNU General Public License. |
