Greg Hurst (born 1958) is an American journalist. He is currently employed by CBS affiliate KHOU-TV in Houston, Texas, where he has been since leaving New York's WABC-TV in 1997. Hurst anchors KHOU's 5, 6, and 10 p.m. newscasts with co-anchors Lisa Hernandez (Noland's replacement) (5-6) and Len Cannon (10); all two were formerly employed by stations in New York (Cannon was anchor at WABC's competing station WNYW prior to leaving for Texas), He was anchoring with Lucy Noland until June 27, 2011. Career Greg Hurst started his career at KATV 7 in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1981. Then, he headed to San Diego where he began reporting for KFMB-TV. Hurst moved to WABC in 1989 as a reporter and anchor, where he took the place of Ernie Anastos alongside Roz Abrams for the station's 5 p.m. newscast (although Hurst was not the first replacement WABC had; the station promoted weekend anchor John Marler to the position and Hurst took over shortly thereafter). Hurst was also a substitute for Bill Beutel at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. when the veteran anchor was unavailable. An award-winning journalist, Hurst has covered major and minor reports for his career. Hurst has traveled out of the country to report many world breaking events, including Iraq and other parts of the Middle East to cover world news. He lives in the Memorial Villages area of Houston, and has two teen daughters, Arianna and Alexandra.
