Alireza Asgharzadeh is a Canadian author of Iranian Azerbaijani descent who is an assistant professor in the Department of Sociology atYork University teaching sociology of knowledge, the sociology of education, and comparative educational systems. His research and study areas includes Middle Eastern Cultures and Societies, According to a bio on African education and globalization: critical perspectives, a book co-written by Asgharzadeh, his work has been published in academic journals such as "Language and Education", "Journal of Education Though", "Journal of Postcolonial Education", "Journal of African Studies" and "Education Quarterly".
