Gorgi

Georgios Kalpakidis, also known as Gorgi, is a Greek songwriter, TV and radio presenter and journalist. He is also known as "George from Greece".
Life & Work
Kalpakidis was born in Tübingen (Germany) by Greek parents but moved back to Greece one and a half years later. He has been occupied in various TV & Radio stations in Thessaloniki (Makedonia TV, Europe One, TV 100, Cosmoradio, Epiloges FM) and also collaborated with a lot of European media. He has been working for the Eurovision Song Contest since 2000.
After studying music and taking lessons in the University of Southampton and Thessaloniki, Kalpakidis has contributed with several of his entries in many Eurovision National Finals from 2004 till today (Lithuania 2004, 2005, 2008 - Spain & Ireland 2008 - Poland & Georgia 2009). His latest contribution was his most successful one, entering for Georgia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 with his song "Miracle" performed by Tika Patsatsia.
