GoblinX is a Linux distribution based on Slackware and is a Live CD. It is directed towards desktop users and features a customized desktop. GoblinX contains some of the most often used applications for Linux. GoblinX employs a modular system that allows the user to add extra software applications to the live CD while using it or by building the ISO file. These modules can be created by the user with the tools included. There are official modules available, and creation of customized modules is also possible. GoblinX installs onto a computer off of the CD using on-the-fly decompression. The first screen that appears after booting allows the user to choose the kernel image and add parameters to the system, also known as "cheat codes", such as choosing to enable or disable certain "modules", choosing a non-default password, and/or selecting a screen resolution. However, one could just press "ENTER" at this prompt to initiate the default system settings, as GoblinX will attempt to auto-configure itself without any additional parameters.
