Linvo is a computer operating system that is based around Slackware GNU/Linux. It comes in desktop Live CD form. An installer is included in the CD. Applications It does include an office suite (OpenOffice.org extended with plugins), an internet browser (Firefox extended with plugins), a music player - Exaile, a video player - Totem, and all the available codecs in the repository. Package managment Linvo uses spkg instead of the traditional for Slackware pkgtools. However, it contains a compatibility wrapper to use spkg via the traditional pkgtools commands. It includes an apt-get like system for installing software, called slapt-get, and a graphical interface: Gslapt. Other information It contains Initng instead of the traditional sysvinit It also contains a portable applications system, which allows you to run applications that are stored in only one file. It's very similar to Slax modules, however it is available in the installed system.
