Glen Royer

Glen Royer is a Canadian singer, songwriter, recording artist, performer, John Lennon impersonator. He is most notable for being the winner of the 1991 Saskatchewan Music Video Of The Year for Victim Of Circumstance.
Early Career
Born and raised in St. Louis, Saskatchewan, Canada. He grew up with a huge influence in music from John Lennon and Paul McCartney of The Beatles. He would become a professional musician and began promoting his own songwriting and music across Canada through music, video and touring.
Music Career
His first professional performing band was called New Concept and featured Glen and Jason Moon on lead vocals. He spent 1988 to 1994 in the touring and recording act, Greenhouse. Greenhouse consisted of Glen Royer, Dan Mowat, Jeff Gantner and Sean Nicholson. Greenhouse released 2 albums. The single "Victim of Circumstance" which had Much Music TV video promotion was also funded by Video Fact in Canada. The band moved from Saskatchewan to Ontario to further promote the video and their career. They performed with numerous other bands such as Sue Medley, Crash Vegas, The Skydiggers, Men Without Hats, The Phantoms, the Barenaked Ladies, The Pursuit Of Happiness, Blackberry Way and The Waltons. They received much press coverage in Saskatchewan and Ontario during 1991 to 1994. The video for "Victim of Circumstance" won Best Video of the Year at the Saskatchewan Video Awards. The Greenhouse sound was a unique mixture of clean cut pop/rock with hard rock lead guitar. Glen Royer did all the songwriting as well as rhythm guitar and lead vocals.
Returning to Saskatchewan, Glen, formed a new band called The Coughing Hensons with Jeff Gantner (from Greenhouse) and Julian Monette on drums.
Awards Won
1991 Video Of The Year - Saskatchewan - Music - Victim Of Circumstance. Award for video of the year was presented to Mr. Jeff Yates and A.J. Hordell who won the award for production. Glen Royer, however, did appear in this video as an artist.
Tribute Band
Due to his life long inspiration from The Beatles and 1960's British Invasion groups he enjoyed paying tribute to John Lennon in Liverpool, a touring Beatles tribute band also featuring Terry Hoknes, Ovide Pilon and Brad MacIntosh. The group performed over 200 shows across Canada from 1996 to 2009. As well as doing The Beatles, Glen also performed tributes to John Fogerty and CCR, Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys, Don and Phil Everly of the Everly Brothers, and as Elvis Presley.
New Solo Material and Songwriting in 2009
Glen Royer now living full time in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, completed his first ever solo album released January 2010. The entire album titled "Diary" featured Glen's original compositions over the past decade. The album featured many direct influences to The Beatles original sound, their lyrics and characters (such as Eleanor Rigby, Nowhere Man, The Fool On The Hill, Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band) and even to Glen being a reincarnation of John Lennon. The album was produced by Terry Hoknes. A new video filmed in December 2009 to promote the lead off single titled "I Want To Be John Lennon" can be seen on youtube.com
