Giles Field

Giles Field (b. David Giles Field, 1982) is a lo-fi, acoustic folk singer-songwriter from Traralgon, Australia. His band, Kaiser Blade, broke up in 2005 after a string of limited release recordings and shortly after, Giles commenced his solo career. His debut solo album The Judgement Tapes was released independently in 2006. Heavily influenced by Daniel Johnston, the album was recorded entirely on Dictaphone, in mono and complete with tape hiss. Using a stripped back approach, the recordings feature only acoustic guitar and vocals and lyrically range from boy-meets-girl pop songs to explorations of mental health.
He is currently writing material for a follow up album.
