FrostWare Corporation Not to be confused with LimeWire's " FrostWire. " FrostWare is a software corporation that is devoted to making free software for the Linux Community, but also is a operating system developer for Linux computers.
History
FrostWare was created on January 1, 2010, under Quinton Wilson. His goals and aspirations to be the dominant company in the Linux community is starting to show as the company has gained explosive popularity. The company is in the works with Google, Inc. to help create the first "G-Pad" to compete with Apple's iPad. The company has created numerous apps for both Android OS, and iPhone OS. The company wishes to expand into the digital media market as well, very soon.
Operating System - Jolicloud
In the summer of 2009, Wilson and his younger sister had an idea to create a company to bring in extra profit for themselves, his ability to program and her ability to persuade an audience at all levels led them to create software with him in charge. The name "Jolicloud" came from the theme of Christmas - as to be jolly - and the look at the clouds on Christmas Eve. On Jolicloud's release the company had a few reviews that led to solid followers as the first time rookies took advantage of the speed and small size it offered. Soon tens of thousands of downloads came flooding the servers as they young company found it evident they needed to expand. The company expanded into offices in Statesboro, Ga. where the college Georgia Southern is located to hire more employees.
On January 1st, the company was approved to operate as a corporation. The wits of the two children have made the company an amazing success. The company now offers support for almost any Linux problem or any concern a costumer has, although the software is free of charge the company makes more money from Jolicloud revenue than most corporations that have been around for longer than a decade. Tons of investors continue to invest into this company as its success is evident. It is perceived to be the next Microsoft and Apple together.
Competition
Like any other company its two main competitors are software giants Apple and Microsoft. FrostWare has found a faster way to gain dominance over these empires, Google. The company works inside with Google to help promote and create new products with Googles stake in the revenue purely greater in almost every area, Google acts as a big brother because of its trusted name.
