From Oakland to Iceland: A Hip-Hop Homecoming

From Oakland to Iceland: A Hip-Hop Homecoming is a 29 minute documentary in English about Iceland native DJ Platurn's return to his homeland in search for his roots. The film was written and directed by Ragga M. Thordarson and was premiered at the Skjaldborg Documentary Film Festival in May 2008 in Iceland. The film was shown on MTV's Denmark website for 5 weeks in August and September 2008, was shown on Icelandic television (RÚV) and is currently being shown through Movieola, Canada's premiere short film outlet.
Ragga M. Thordarson, the director and producer of the film,<ref name=icelandnaturally.com/> was born in Iceland and was raised and educated in California. She is the film subject DJ Platurn's sister and currenty resides in Reykjavik where she has worked as a radio and television personality since 2003.
