Forscythe- de Steur is a Private Security Consulting Firm in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Its current President and CEO is Samuel Fischer.

History
Founded in October of 2004, Forscythe- de Steur was founded in Michigan by Samuel Fischer to provide comprehensive Security Analysis and Risk Assessment. The company was acquired in December of 2006 by Suisse Securite Internationale, LLC. another Michigan Firm for a reported $17.4 million(USD). The company is now a subsidiary of SSI, LLC. The purchase will be paid out for a period of 6 months, starting on 1 January 2007.

SSI maintains control over the company, however the moniker remains the same and despite ownership Forscythe- de Steur maintains autonomy and self-governance. FdS's primary function, in the scope of SSI is to pursue high-threat, high-priority contracts that the much larger SSI cannot fulfill, given the high-priority nature of the contracts. SSI is a much larger organization, whereas FdS employs only a handful of employees, about 50.

FdS maintains offices in most major countries and throughout most of Europe and parts of the Middle East. FdS's major concern, as of SSI's last stockholder meeting (7 April 2006) is the Russian Sphere. This includes the Balkans, Eastern Europe and portions of Central Asia. FdS has been active in the Balkans throughout 2006 and into 2007.

Organization
The company is divided into three major divisions: Intelligence, Operations and Technology. The three chiefs of the divisions report directly to Fischer, but have "great latitude" according to Fischer. The company is generally secretive of the identities of its employees, especially the Operations Director, a trait typical in SSI companies. The Operations Chief is virtually unknown, whereas the Intelligence chief, Emma Dalton, spoke at IntelCon 2006 as one of the few practitioners of Diagnostic Intelligence (DI). Two practitioners of DI are both employed at FdS, Samuel Fischer and Emma Dalton are two of twelve public experts on the subject. The Head of Technology, Lauren Delaney is also a respected member of the Intelligence community, formerly a member of the United States Military Signals Intelligence.

The Operations department is believed to have a fully functioning Tactical Response Group (TRG) and numerous Case Officers. The Operations Division maintains contracts for Close Personal Protection (CPP), Industrial Security along with numerous Training Contracts.

Controversies
In Fall of 2006, FdS, while under contract in the Balkans, was involved in a skirmish resulting in the death of one contractor and the injuries of three more. FdS was contracted by the International War Crimes Tribunal for Former Yugoslavia, along with other Private Military Contracting Companies to search for Small Arms and Light Weapons outside of Banja Luka in Bosnia-Herzegovina, in hopes of securing evidence against war criminals Ratko Mladic and Radovan Karadzic.

The Group, traveling in convoy came under ambush in the hills outside Banja Luka, FdS and the other PMCs returned fire neutralizing several combatants and wounding several more. The eventual Operation was deemed successful, however at a loss. FdS cancelled the contract at great financial loss.
