Farook Mahmood is an Indian businessman, philanthropist and social worker. He is the Chairman and Managing Director of the Silverline Group, a Bangalore based real estate business. He is also the Honorary Secretary of the Al-Ameen Educational Society, and the founding president of the National Association of Realtors in India. Personal life After his basic education, Mahmood obtained a degree in Real Estate Management. He is also a graduate, with a degree in Real Estate Principles and Practices from California State University, Fullerton in the United States. Career Mahmood is the Director of M/s Silverline Realty Pvt. Ltd, M/s Marigold Estates Pvt. Ltd, M/s Silverline Business & Techparks Pvt. Ltd and Global Edge Systems & Services Ltd. (UK) and Partner of M/s Tudor Investments. He started the Bangalore Real Estate Association of India in 2000, becoming the President of the association. He was also the Founding President of the National Association of Realtors in India. Mahmood is the only representative from India who has been elected to International Consortium of Real Estate Association, in the U.S. He represented India on the Globel "Think Tank" in Paris. He is a member of FIABCI (International Real Estate Federation., and the International Adviser of Board of FNAIM (France), as well as a member of FRICS at the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. He is the Vice President of the World Council of Brokers, and previously served as the president of the Bangalore Realtors Association (BRA-I). Mahmood represented India in the 63rd World Congress of FIABCI at Saint Petersburg, Russia. Social activities Mahmood is a trustee of Silverline Foundation which supports various social services such as scholarships, medical aid, retirement homes, etc. He is the Director of the Vocational Awards of Bangalore Mid Town Rotary Club. He is the Chairman of Al-Ameen Scholarship Committee and Patron Member of Executive Committee of Al-Ameen Educational Society. He is also currently a board member of Central Wakf Council which focuses on the development of Wakf properties in India. The nature of development includes grants aid to the member states, interest free education loans, women welfare, planning and advisory for the activities of the boards all over the country. Mahmood is also the Honorary Secretary of Al-Ameen Educational Society which is managing more than 140 institutions. In addition, he is the Vice President of Bangalore Mid Town Rotary Club.
