Esfahan Symposium on Laser Physics
|
At the Esfahan (Isfahan) Symposium on Fundamental and Applied Laser Physics, which took place 29 August-5 September 1971, the world's laser specialists gathered to exchange notes on the state of the field and its probable future. The symposium was held on the campus of University in (Isfahan) , the second largest city of Iran, under the auspices of Arya-Mehr (Sharif) University of Technology and with the support and cooperation of (Isfahan) University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.(MIT) Ali Javan (MIT) was director of the symposium, which was sponsored by the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics. In 1971, many scientists and professors came to Iran (Isfahan) and participated in the first laser symposium. Dr Ali Javan , Charles Townes a Nobel Prize Laureate in Physics, Alexander Mikhaylovich Prokhorov, a Nobel Prize Laureate in Physics, Nicolaas Bloembergen Nobel Laureate, Physics, 1981, Norman Ramsey, Pierre Jacquinot, Sergio Pereira da Silva Porto , Ray Kidder (Raymond E. Kidder), Arthur L. Schawlow , Boris P. Stoicheff, Kruer W. L, Dawson John M, Hertzberg Abraham, Vlases George C, Ahlstrom Harlow G, Steinhauer Loren C, and dozens of other physicists… presented papers.
