EPD Eukaryotic Promoter Database

The EPD or Eukaryotic Promoter Database website is a collection of databases of annotated non-redundant POL II promoters, experimentally defined by a transcription start site (TSS). Access to promoter sequences is provided by pointers to positions in the corresponding genomes. Promoter evidence comes from conventional TSS mapping experiments for individual genes, or from mass genome annotation projects.
Databases
The EPD databases are: EPD, the historical database with information coming from mapping experiments for individual genes and partially from whole genome experiments. It covers all eukaryotic organisms. EPDnew databases, organism-specific databases for which the experimental evidence comes solely from whole genome experiments such as Cap Analysis of Gene Expression (CAGE). The goal is to provide full promoter coverage only on selected model organisms: Homo sapiens, Mus musculus, Drosophila melanogaster, Danio rerio and Caenorhabditis elegans.
