OlimpBase, is a website dedicated to the Chess Olympiads and other team chess events, created and run in Poland by Wojciech Bartelski. It is a fully independent project financed from private funds and has no relation to FIDE or other third parties. It contains more than 60,000 pages, making it probably the largest chess website. The site is divided into the following main sections: * Chess Olympiads * World and Continental Team Championships * Club and City Events * Youth Team Championships * Minor Team Events OlimpBase was designed to provide the most complete online coverage of international chess team (either nations or club) events. This includes all kinds of official FIDE team events, as well as historical events that have once been abandoned, including the Student Olympiads, and others. Historical lists of national chess team champions of many countries are included. The data are provided with an abundance of extra information on dates, venues, referees, regulations, reviews, individual prizes, most notable games and many more. It contains, as of June 2009, a database on 12,436 chess players and 327 teams, which is constantly updated. In 2004, it received the "Golden Web Award" for being one of the best sites on the web.
