EKD (also EnKoDeur-Mixer) is an open-source audio/video post-processing free software. EKD started as a video encoder, but evolved over time to add filters, batch processing, and other more robust post-production operations for files and animated images. EKD is cross-platform, having versions for Windows, OS X, and Linux (though the Windows version has a number of dependencies, including Python and ImageMagick). As per available downloads on the home page, the current version numbers are: OS X 1.4; Linux 2.0; Windows 2011/03/03. EKD have a complete tool to encode AVCHD video recordings into a MPEG4 HD free editables videos to help finals users to edit easily HD video recordings. The program has French and English translations available, and its webpage is undergoing active translation to English as well.
