Anthony Stabile

Anthony Stabile was a Italian-American gangster from Ozone Park, Queens who joined the Lucchese crime family and lated switched to the Gambino crime family. He is the brother of Tommasso "Thomas" who would also follow in his footsteps and become a member of the Lucchese crime family. "Tommy" was later arrested for armed robbery and sentenced to ten years in the 1960's cutting short his criminal career. Anthony is portrayed in the film Goodfellas by actor Frank Adonis.
Biography
Anthony worked with Henry Hill, Jimmy Burke, Tommy DeSimone and Stanley Diamond while hijacking merchandise from JFK Airport. Anthony became associates with Henry Hill and helped him hide his first mistress "Linda" by saying that she was there for Anthony not Henry. He was present at the card-game when Tommy DeSimone shot thirteen-year old at Robert's Lounge. It was Stabile who drove Gianco to go to the doctor down the block in Queens, New York. Then a few weeks later he was present with Angelo John Sepe playing cards when Tommy killed Spider. Stabile became involved with fellow crew members Hill, Tommy DeSimone and Jimmy Burke to help sell narcotics. Anthony was later chose by Jimmy Burke to murder Henry Hill and 's son, Robert Germaine Jr. He never had the chance to though. Anthony was killed at some point in time during 1985 by Gambino crime family made soldier, “Banky” Frigente, who was a good friend of Charles Carneglia. Anthony was thrown in the trunk of his own Cadillac DeVille then parked in a vacant field in Ozone Park, Queens, and then shot in the head. Frigente then set the Cadillac on fire. The police investigation led police to Frigente as the shooter.
Family Ties in Organized Crime
Anthony's brother Thomas Stabile was imprisoned for armed robbery and a 1972 bank heist in New York City at the time of his murder.
