Biography
Eleonore, nicknamed "Lorli", was born on 14 May 1931 in Salzburg, the second child of Georg Ludwig von Trapp and his second wife Maria Augusta Kutschera. Her full siblings are Rosemarie von Trapp (born 1929) and Johannes von Trapp (born 1939); her half siblings are Rupert von Trapp (1911-1992), Agathe von Trapp (1913-2010), Maria Franziska von Trapp (born 1914), Werner von Trapp (1915-2007), Hedwig von Trapp (1917-1972), Johanna von Trapp (1919-1994) and Martina von Trapp (1921-1951).
The Trapp Family traveled in the summer 1939 to Italy, France and Scandinavia then to the USA. Eleonore sang in the family chorus from 1943 to 1953. She was the first soprano. When her father died in May 1947, she was sixteen years old. She married Hugh David Campbell in 1953. They had seven daughters: Elizabeth, Peggy, Jeanie, Polly, Erika, Hope and Martina.
She lives with her family in Waitsfield, Vermont.
