Ruthard Baron von Aargau

Ruthard Baron of Aargau was born around 737 in an area of what was known as Argongau (Aargau. He would have been Count of Breisgau but never used this title. His wife was Angila Normsgau, a child of a local lord, and was only 14 years old when they wed(not uncommen for this time). His brother Waldo of Reichenau became abbot of the Abbey of St. Gall and of the Reichenau Abbey and then Bishop and a Imperial Abbot making the family one very good terms with Charlemagne. With this frindship Ruthards sones would gain lands and titles. Ruthard had two sons Heinrich I Heimo von Wetterau and Guelph I. Ruthard has been found with the name Rupert at sometimes. His father was Richbold, Count of Breisgau. Ruthard died in 782.
