El Deyma is a rock band based in London (UK). The band originally formed in Paris in 2008 and comprised members Florian Guillaume (guitar, piano, vocals), Adrien Simonnot(bass, piano, vocals) and Vincent Thomas (drums, vocals). El Deyma’s first single, UFO, was selected to appear on the “Le Son du Transilien” disc (100.000 copies) in 2008. After playing several gigs in clubs in the UK in 2012, they were elected best band at the Bus Palladium in Paris that same year. 2012 also saw the release of the music video for "Odd-o-matic", shot in Paris by Kelly Lippmann using the stop motion technique. The video narrates the adventures of a "magic shoe" looking for its twin., which received some good reviews among the online community of filmmaking fans . In 2013 Guillaume moved to London and started playing the band's material along with new composition with drummer Daniele Bogo and bass player Lika. This lineup played many shows in London keeping the name El Deyma. The original lineup would reunite for a one-off show at the Forever Sun Festival in Dorchester later that summer and for a few shows in Paris in September 2013. In October 2013, Lika was replaced by Italian guitar player Giulio Moro who switched to bass upon entering the band. The new lineup recorded single Bad Kiddo at Premises Studios in London on November, 24th 2013. The release of the single was anticipated by a trailer, shot in the recording studio by Alec Hopkins, which shows fragments of the studio live session by the band working with sound engineer Jason Howes. The single was released on iTunes by History Records on April 7, 2014 and was available for purchase on iTunes along with b-side "No ink", an acoustic song recorded in Paris by Guillaume in 2012. A music video for Bad Kiddo followed on April 14. The video was directed by Hopkins on a script by himself and Guillaume and notably features a dog named Armani. The launch of the single was accompanied by a promotional campaign by Matchbox Recordings. On April 17th the band was featured on Phoenix FM for a radio interview and to perform a short acoustic set . Throughout 2014 the band played many London venues including Proud Camden, Vibe Bar, The Church, Lock17, Camden Rock, Paradise, the Finsbury. During the summer 2014 they played some festivals in England and Italy: *Brentwood Festival (Brentwood, Essex, England) - July 20, 2014 (opening act for UB40) *Forever Sun Festival (Dorchester, Dorset, England) - July 26, 2014 *Suoni di Marca (Treviso, Italy) - July 27, 2014 (opening act for Zen Circus) *Brixton Splash (Brixton, London, England) - August 3 *Linfield Arts Festival (Lindfield, West Sussex, England) - September 14 On July 5 and 6 they recorded two new songs at the Premises Studios with the collaboration of violin player Marie-Anne Favreau and cello player Cécile Guillon, both from the National Conservatory of Paris. One of the two songs from the session, “Exclusive Try” was released as a single in October 2014. The music video for this song was shot in London in 2013 using traditional digital camera techniques and directed by Guillaume and Emmanuel Lakkari. The video features a follow-up to the adventures of the "magic shoe" by French comic artist Calami T. “Creativity and talent mix perfectly in El Deyma.
